The Subclass 189 visa is a points-tested permanent residence visa for highly skilled workers who are neither sponsored by an employer, state or territory government, nor family member.
Successful applicants and their eligible family members may live, work, and study anywhere in Australia as permanent residents.
Applicants must submit an EOI and receive an invitation to apply.
Key eligibility criteria include meeting the points test, being under 45 years of age, having a nominated occupation on the skilled occupation list, obtaining a suitable skills assessment, and demonstrating competent English.
